I adore the Lady Sherlock series and easily slipped into Miss Moriarty, I suppose? by Sherry Thomas. Narrated by Kate Reading, this is the sixth audiobook and what a treat! From the coastal mystery to our antagonist Moriarty, and of course our slow-moving romance, it was just amazing. Grab a cup and check out my ideas.

Charlotte Holmes comes face to face with her enemy when Moriarty turns to her in his hour of need, in the bestselling USA series set in Victorian England.

An unexpected client appears on Charlotte Holmes’ doorstep: Moriarty himself. Moriarty fears a tragedy for his daughter and wants Charlotte to find out the truth.

Charlotte and Mrs. Watson travel to a remote community of practitioners of occultism where Moriarty’s daughter was last seen, a place full of lies and liars. Meanwhile, Charlotte’s sister Livia tries to understand a mysterious message from her lover Mr. Marbleton. And Charlotte’s longtime friend and ally Lord Ingram finally directs his seductive ingenuity to Charlotte – or the other way around?

But the more secrets Charlotte revealed about Miss Moriarty’s disappearance, the more I wondered why Moriarty was entrusted with this sensitive matter of all people. Is he just testing Charlotte’s skills as a detective or has the Man of Shadows trapped her in a snake’s nest?

Prepare yourself as the story takes on a more intense tone as we move into the sixth edition. Moriarty showed up on Charlotte’s doorstep needing help finding his daughter and it was simply amazing. Instinctively, Charlotte knows something is off, but nonetheless, she and her buddies investigate.

I adore everything about this series. The characters are an absolute delight. Charlotte, her demeanor, methodological conclusions, and obsession with treatment make me stress. Her lover Lord Ingram, Lady Watson, and her sister Livia reinforce the story when they help Charlotte.

The romance from the domestic moments to their letters made me crave more moments between them. Mrs. Thomas has kept me on edge from anticipating their first kiss to fainting with their passion and delicious banter. Romance is cool, real, and filled with a mixture of passion and humor.

Miss Moriarty, I suppose? It was interesting and it kept me in captivity. The twisted end and nail biting were elaborate. I’m hooked and just as passionate about the sixth book as I was the first in this series. Sherry Thomas took everything I love about Sherlock Holmes from characters to cases and made them her own. Mrs. Charlotte Holmes and her diverse crew of companions have become favourites, and I can’t wait for more adventures with them.

Fans of puzzles, Sherlock Holmes, suspense and well-made characters will find this series addictive and satisfying. I recommend reading or listening to the Lady Sherlock series in the order they were released due to personal relationships and the general villain ARC. However, each book contains a complete puzzle.

Troy Kate Reading has become the voice of these characters. While I’m sure reading the series is fun, the way the reading gives voice, sets the tone and enhances the overall story makes the listening a must.
